Gospel at Home

HOW TO DO IT

Choose a day and time each week to gather for about 30 minutes. Children are welcome to join. If the family has visitors, they can be invited to participate. If the visitors are not Spiritists, explain the purpose of the meeting. These guidelines can also be followed by someone doing this alone.

GUIDELINES FOR THE GATHERING

  • Beginning of the meeting: Start with a simple and spontaneous prayer.
  • Reading: Read a section from The Gospel According to Spiritism or the New Testament of the Bible. You can do this by either randomly choosing a page or starting from the preface.
  • Discussion: Keep comments brief and involve everyone present, focusing on how the moral teachings apply to everyday life.
  • Intentions: Pray for fraternity, peace, and balance for all humankind, leaders, and those responsible for children, youth, adults, and the elderly. Pray for the Gospel’s presence in all homes and for peace, harmony, and health in the participants’ homes.
  • Requests: Pray for family members, friends, acquaintances, and all humankind.
  • Closing prayer: End with a simple, sincere, and spontaneous prayer, thanking God, Jesus, and the Good Spirits.

NOTE: The Gospel at Home is not meant to be a mediumistic meeting.
